WINGS FARM PROJECT

WINGS FARM PROJECT

In this page I will continue promoting Silver for jewelry making , because it is a beautiful metal that can be converted into objects of great beauty,  allowing the use of enamel in all colors and combinations  fantasy allows its bright white color being like a white paper ready to paint on it . The limits are the talent and fantasy .

Also , Silver is a cheap material in comparing with gold and the value will be the craft , not the weight .

The theme I have chosen is the wings of insects, especially butterflies, because it is a diversity that allows unlimited combinations of colors.

Butterflies – like flowers – are the best example of nature’s limitless imagination when it comes to colors.
There will be butterflies, dragonflies , birds and flowers , and other various types of animals that have colors worthy of being reproduced in a  jewelry item , and I’ll also try a few nature images in which poetry and feelings can be revealed .
There will be pendants, brooches, necklaces, bracelets, rings and earrings, and maybe a few other accessories . All of them being manufactured specifically for enamelling and will be exclusively unique, being crafted by hand .

The fabrication of such an object can take in between one to three days or a week. For a single object, as I said.

Enameling is a very complicated and painstaking process and can not be reduced or simplified.

I’ll use the “Plique a Jour” and “Cloissone” techiques , with open fire , I don’t have a propper kiln to allow the perfect temperature control these techiques require .
If you’ll  have the patience, you can track objects unique manufacturing processes that will expose for sale at a new site called “WINGS FARM”.

There anyone can ask me for a one of a kind item , especially designed for them .

  2. Hello Priya ,
If you are an enamel artist , you must know that there is not a rule in enamell coats.
The only rule is to respect the pickling process and to have a clean and oxides free surface . .
Otherwise, the prior application of the flux is in case you want bright and gradient colours .. Other colors can be used directly, without fluX., in which case you’ll get deep shades.
So you can apply or not flux as the first layer . I do both ways, as I need .
All you have to do is to practice and experimenting , untill you will get the results you wanted .
Thank you for visiting my blog .
    Giacomo
